Email Marketing – 5 Steps to a High Converting Squeeze Page
After you have done your research and created a product to give away to build your mailing list you need to build a high converting squeeze page. There are lots of squeeze page template available online for free so you can either pick one of these and modify it to fit your product or you can create one from scratch. Either way these five steps will help you to create a squeeze page that converts into lots of sign ups to your mailing list.
1. Create a Compelling Headline.
You need to get a bit creative and come up with a compelling headline as this is what people will see first when they land on your squeeze page. This headline needs to catchy and invoke curiosity so that the reader wants to read more. It may be as simple as suggesting you have a solution to a problem the reader is desperate to solve.
2. List the Benefits of Your Product.
Even though you are giving away your product you need to be able to entice people enough so that they are prepared to input their name and email address to get your free report, DVD, ebook or subscription. What better way to achieve this then listing all the benefits they will get if they get your free product. You may even wish to highlight the benefits that you think will be most important to them.
3. Tell Your Visitors What to Do.
It may sound obvious but people actually like to be told what to do. So use the words “Leave your name and email address below to receive your free copy of….” above your sign up box.
4. Let Your Visitors Know Their Details are Safe with You.
Tell you visitors that their details are safe with you and you will only use them for your own marketing and not sell their names and email addresses to a third party. Also include a privacy policy to enforce this statement and give them reassurance that they can trust your site.
5. Keep Your Squeeze Page Simple.
You should not use lots of graphics and loud colors as this will distract your visitor from signing up to receive your free product. I suggest using just one graphic of your free product and to keep the number of colors to a minimum. Also a white background with black text seems to work best but you can use colored text to emphasis the important facts or benefits.
Your squeeze page should give you visitor the choice of either signing up or clicking away from your site. So you should avoid the temptation to add other advertising or a paid product advertisement to your squeeze page. For more information on email marketing http://www.kerriesheehan.com
